Why do birds insist on screeching so early in the morning?

For the past couple of weeks I was doing really well on the whole sleeping thing. But of course the night before an important day, I just can’t seem to slumber. I have no idea what’s going on with me. I’ve been up all night listening to Our Last Night, The Wanted, and Austin Mahone; playing Minecraft, The Simpsons Tapped Out, and Spider Solitaire; and reading the Discovery tab on Twitter. I’ve yawned maybe twice all night, and have yet to even feel sleepy. Which is so weird, because usually when I stay up all night I’m just procrastinating on my sleep and those things tend to wear me down and help me fall asleep.

My alarm clock is supposed to go off in an hour. I won’t be surprised if exhaustion hits me right before then. This whole ordeal just makes me even more nervous for my day than I already was.

Carpe diem, I guess!

Being alone vs. Loneliness

Sometimes being alone can be tranquil. Getting away from the hustle and bustle of busy every day life, and all of the people that accompany it. Sometimes you need that calm and quiet time with yourself.

Other times, being alone can be really lonely. The sad and depressing kind. It will either take you over and keep you in a rut, or just have to down and out for a few hours. Either way, we all know what it’s like to lose hope at one point or another. All we can do is get through it the best we can.

If you don’t fight for your happiness, is it worth it? Are you really happy, or are you just smiling? When you fight for something and conquer, there won’t be a way to keep that genuine smile off of your face.

Stay happy!

I just.. I don’t know. I’m in shock, I guess. I can’t stand it when people treat children terribly then wonder why the kid turns out to be a(n) terrible/undisciplined/socially awkward/anti-social person. I work with kids sometimes, and I love it. Some of the groups I’ve had to handle haven’t been very well behaved, but I’ve yet to scream at them. I’ve had them question why I was working with them as I am a girl. Yep, (mini) hockey players. Gotta love ’em.

Anyway, I know someone who hates kids. Absolutely hates them. This person decided to scream at a little boy because he brought up something that he did not know he wasn’t supposed to talk about. Well, he isn’t forbidden to talk about that subject, but it involved his older brother’s ex-girlfriend and the person who screamed at him is his older brother’s current girlfriend. Yeah.. For someone who says she hates drama, it seems as if she’ll start it with anyone. Even a little boy.

-Sigh- I’ll never understand the way certain people think.

Happy holidays!

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Although it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we should all be aware of all cancers. And I when I say aware, I just mean aware. I don’t mean people should obsess over the fact that they may get cancer one day. I just mean to know the facts about cancer. Such as, how to spot it, how to check for it, what the odds are, ways to prevent it, etc. The more people know about the different kinds of diseases and how they can be prevented, then it is simple as that, they just need to know.

I am a proud volunteer of the Keep A Breast Foundation for Canada. The reason I absolutely love and support this foundation is because they get awareness out to teens and young adults. That’s a very important issue: getting teens and young adults educated about things that actually matter. I am nineteen years-old and at my age, I know quite a few people who smoke cigarettes. For me, it’s a touchy subject. I really don’t want to have to tell them that smoking can lead to cancer, because they probably already know that and hear it enough. The thing with young people though, is that when you tell them that doing something is bad, it will make them want to do it even more. But that’s what the Keep A Breast Foundation does. Even though most teens and young adults don’t realize they’re supporting a breast cancer foundation, as they follow the trend they’re helping out a lot. By the trend, I mean “I ❤ boobies” bracelets and shirts.
